Frum Lakewood Grocery Robbed at Gunpoint

(thelakewoodscoop.com) —

A frum-owned grocery store in Lakewood was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m., a man wearing a sweatshirt, with a bandana covering his face, pulled a gun at the cashier in the Cedarbridge Marketplace on Cedarbridge Avenue and demanded cash, police say.

The cashier complied and handed over the cash, and the suspect fled.

“He ran across the street into the forest,” a witness told the Lakewood Scoop.

A nearby proprietor told TLS that he’s a bit unnerved about the incident.

“This is getting out of hand,” Joe (Yosef) M. said.

Just last month, another nearby shop on Cedarbridge Avenue was robbed in the same manner. It’s unknown if the incidents are related.

Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CSI are investigating.
