Free Syrian Army Takes Credit for Kuntar Hit

YERUSHALAYIM -

The Free Syrian Army claimed responsibility on Monday for the assassination of Hizbullah arch-terrorist Samir Kuntar on Sunday.

A video clip released by members of the Syrian rebel group cast doubt on Hizbullah’s accusation against Israel for carrying out the attack.

While Israeli officials welcomed the assassination of the man responsible for murdering the Haran family in 1979, they would not comment on who was behind it.

The Free Syrian Army alleged that Hizbullah had blamed Israel in order to deny the achievement of their rival. The Free Syrian Army and Hizbullah are on opposite sides of the war in Syria, the former trying to topple Assad while the latter fights to keep him in power.
