Weekend construction on the Bayonne Bridge, which links Bayonne with Staten Island, will not delay motorists celebrating the start of Chanukah.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said the span will close between 11:59 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, and from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday.
Chanukah begins on Sunday night.
The $1.3 billion project to raise the roadway will give larger ships access to New York and New Jersey ports. The new bridge roadway will have wider lanes and a median.
