An 18-year-old Jewish man was shot in the arm and back late Tuesday night while he was in a supermarket just outside the village of Kiryas Joel.
The victim was standing outside the Kosher Quick Shop takeout center when he was approached by the assailant. He was taken by the Kiryas Joel Hatzolah to Westchester Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
Initial reports indicate that it was not a hate crime. No arrests have been made.
