Officers Pack Courtroom as Cop Killer Pleads Not Guilty

NEW YORK (AP) —

A man accused of gunning down an NYPD officer last month pleaded not guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder and other charges.

Dozens of police officers and relatives of Detective Randolph Holder packed the Manhattan hearing for Tyrone Howard. Holder was killed Oct. 20 while responding to a report of shots fired and a bicycle stolen in East Harlem. Prosecutors allege Howard knew Holder was a policeman while shooting him.
