A dangerous intersection where drivers on Brooklyn’s Ocean Parkway may suddenly veer off on Bay Parkway will become safer with a new sign warning of the turn ahead, a Brooklyn lawmaker announced Thursday.

Assemblyman Dov Hikind said the city’s department of transportation has begun a series of improvements along Ocean Parkway, starting with bringing the sign at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Bay Parkway 70 feet before the turn.

There have been numerous accidents at that intersection, most recently last week.

Also on Wednesday, workers planted dozens of trees along Ocean Parkway as part of a beatification program.
