Israeli Troops Raid Chevron Hospital to Arrest Terror Suspect

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

Israeli security forces carried out an arrest in Al Ahli hospital in Chevron early Thursday morning, taking into custody a Palestinian suspected of stabbing and seriously wounding an Israeli civilian on October 25.

During the raid, a relative of the suspect, Azzam Shaldallah, attacked the security personnel and was reportedly shot and killed.

A video taken at the time and supplied to The Associated Press showed the Israeli forces in plainclothes disguised as a family coming to the hospital with a patient. Israeli forces could be seen in traditional Arab outfits, including some appearing to have fake beards.

Shaldallah, 27, whose family is known to be active in Hamas, was shot by the civilian he stabbed on October 25 in Gush Etzion, but managed to flee the scene of the crime. He is a resident of Sa’ir, near Chevron.

The Shin Bet confirmed the raid and said in a statement that security forces “will not allow safe refuge for terrorist operatives, whoever they are.”
