‘America’s Parade’ Honors Veterans, Active Military
New York City paused Wednesday to honor its veterans and active military for a Veterans Day procession up Fifth Avenue.
“America’s Parade” included marching bands, floats, veterans and military units. The theme is 70 years since the end of World War II and 25 years since Operation Desert Shield liberated Kuwait. The featured military branch is the U.S. Navy. This year’s grand marshal is former Manhattan DA Robert Morgenthau, a Navy veteran who fought in World War II.
