Port Authority Explores Fees for Curbside Drop-Offs at Airport
It might cost to pick up or drop off passengers at Newark, Kennedy and LaGuardia airports.
The Port Authority is exploring airport access fees as a way to deal with growing curbside congestion outside airport terminals. The agency says that in recent years there are more vehicles-for-hire using the front of the terminals as staging areas. That has altered vehicular traffic patterns.
Airports around the country charge for curbside drop-offs and car services usually pass the cost on to riders.
