NY Announces Effort to Boost Catskills Tourism
New York is launching a new advertising push to promote tourism in the Catskills.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the $5 million ad campaign and a $7.3 million upgrade for Minnewaska State Park Preserve Friday during a motorcycle tour of the area.
The Democratic governor says he will also host a recreational sporting event this summer in the Catskills called the Catskills Challenge, modeled after a similar event in the Adirondacks. It will feature fly fishing, paddling, hiking and mountain biking.
