IDF Soldier Seriously Wounded In Kiryat Arba Terror Attack

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

Kiryat Arba near Chevron was targeted by Palestinian terrorists again on Monday morning as an IDF soldier was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack

The 19-year old soldier, who was stabbed in the neck, was evacuated to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim.

Despite his wounds, the soldier was still able to open fire along with a fellow soldier and kill the attacker, 22-year-old Raed Jaradat, according to Ynet.

A relative of the terrorist, Iyad Rawhi Jaradat, 19, was shot dead by IDF forces during clashes near Beit Anoun, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Earlier in the day, in a separate incident, just before 3 p.m., a Palestinian who tried to stab an Israeli soldier in Chevron was shot and killed. No one was hurt in the attack.

In Beitar Illit, Palestinians thew rocks at a bus. The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated by the MDA.

The terror threat from the Gaza Strip was also heard from, as a rocket was fired at Israel from the Hamas enclave at about 7 p.m. It was launched from Shuhada cemetery south of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, and landed in an open area at Shaar HaNegev Regional Council. No injuries or damage was reported.
