Ex-Christie Rival Reprimanded Over Funding Misuse
A former state senator and Democratic candidate for governor was reprimanded by a state commission for using her senatorial account to pay for polling about the governor’s race before she set up a gubernatorial account.
The commission on Wednesday also levied a $1,600 fine on Barbara Buono, who lost in a landslide to Gov. Chris Christie in 2013.
Her attorney, Angelo Genova, criticized the Election Law Enforcement Commission’s decision as “curious and misguided.” He says Buono immediately paid for the poll when directed.
