Airbus-Drone Near Miss At Ben-Gurion Airport

Just minutes before a Brussels Airlines airbus landed at Ben Gurion International Airport on Monday, a drone flew past the plane, nearly colliding with it, it was reported by Ynet on Wednesday.

The plane, flight BEL3289, landed safely with 160 passengers and crew members aboard.

The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Monday as the plane arrived at approach route No. 30. It was prepared for descent from 4,500 to 2,500 feet when the pilot spotted the drone.

A blue-colored drone with four rotary blades passed in front of the airbus.

The crew immediately notified airport authorities of the incident and an investigation was opened, but the identity of the drone or its operator is yet to be determined.
