Police Find Snakes, Alligator in Brooklyn Apartment

NEW YORK (AP) —

An alligator and nine snakes were far away from their natural habitats when officers found them in an Atlantic Avenue apartment.

Officers executing a search warrant found the creatures on Tuesday. At least some of the snakes are boa constrictors. The reptiles’ owner, Johnnie Morgan, is facing reckless endangerment charges. Police say Morgan has faced charges for having similar pets in the past.

The reptiles were taken to the Bronx Zoo.
