Bachurim Heading to Camp Saved From Car Fire
A group of bachurim en route to camp in the Catskills was saved on Wednesday, b’chasdei Hashem, when they exited their vehicle just moments before it burst into flames.
The van was transporting the boys from their homes in Cleveland, Ohio, to Camp Kaylie in Wurtsboro, N.Y. The driver smelled smoke while on the way and stopped, ordering the group to exit.
Less than five minutes after all the passengers got out, flames were visible in the van, and it became totally engulfed by fire within a short time. Much of the luggage was damaged, but all passengers escaped unscathed.
Camp Kaylie, a division of Ohel, is unique in that campers both with and without special needs are fully integrated in bunks and in activities.
