Authorities on Wednesday recovered the body of a bridge inspector from the Passaic River nearly two days after he was swept away in a flash flood.

Efrain Grajeda, 47, of Monroe Township, was inspecting a footbridge over Weasel Brook that feeds into the Passaic River during a downpour on Monday when he slipped off the bridge and was swept away when heavy rains caused the water level to rise 11 feet.
