Bomb-Wielding Terrorist Shot by Police

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

A Palestinian approaching Israeli Border Police while carrying a pipe bomb was shot and killed at the Jenin refugee camp on Wednesday.

The incident occurred overnight at the tail end of a raid on suspected terrorists in the city.

“He was shot by a unit providing covering fire for the unit that he was about to attack,” a police spokesman said.

One of the officers noticed a person holding what appeared to be a pipe bomb and fired at the suspect, injuring him. The device fell from the man’s hand and exploded nearby.

On Wednesday it came to light that a day before, the same man had made a statement online suggesting he was planning a suicide attack.

“It is now possible to do what I want, to do everything, and I have decided to meet G-d,” he wrote.

In the Jenin raid, IDF security forces arrested three people, one of whom is accused of active involvement in Hamas. Altogether, 10 people in Yehudah and Shomron were arrested in operations carried out during the night. Nine were suspected of involvement in terror groups while one was accused of violently disturbing the peace in an area where there were both civilians and soldiers.
