Tragedy: Yeshiva Bachur Drowns in Reservoir Near Beit Shemesh

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

A yeshivah bachur drowned in the Beit Zayit Reservoir near Beit Shemesh on Thursday. Numerous media sources identified him as Shalom Mori, z”l, a resident of Ramat Shlomo.

Emergency services rushed to the location after being alerted by others at the scene who saw the 20-year-old yeshivah student enter the waters of the reservoir but fail to come out.

Rescue divers pulled the lifeless body out of the swampy waters at around 8 p.m. on Thursday.

The youth’s friends said he had entered the water, and apparently drowned in the mud.
