An opposition MK has charged that Hamas has renewed the digging of its terror tunnels, and that this is the fault of a weak Israeli government.
Zionist Camp MK Omer Bar-Lev said one or more of these tunnels may have already crossed under the security fence with Israel.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s “weak and fawning policy that typifies Netanyahu encourages Hamas and Hizbullah to tighten the rope against us,” he charged.
“We cannot repeat the failure on tunnels from the eve of Operation Protective Edge,” Bar-Lev said. “If I were defense minister, I would order the IDF to go out tonight on an operation to destroy the renewed tunnels,” he told the Knesset foreign affairs and defense committee.
There was no immediate reaction from the prime minister’s office.
