Man Leaves $100K Watch Behind at Airport Security
A Japanese real estate entrepreneur who left his $100,000 diamond-encrusted watch at a Newark Airport security checkpoint is getting it back via special delivery. A colleague of the owner picked it up on Thursday and flew to Japan to hand-deliver it.
Guards accustomed to having travelers leave behind sunglasses and stuffed animals found the one-of-a-kind Cartier watch on Tuesday. The owner had already boarded a flight to Japan. It was kept under lock and key.
Officials say they used security images of the owner wearing the timepiece to verify his claim.
