IDF Intercepts Terror Operation in Golan Heights

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

A terrorist operation on the Israel-Syria border near Mt. Dov was intercepted by the Israeli air force on Sunday night when at least three infiltrators were killed trying to plant a bomb near an IDF post.

Four terrorists were spotted at about 9:30 p.m. in the northern Golan Heights by the Combat Intelligence Collection Units as they were in the act of planting explosive devices on the eastern side of the border fence, inside Israeli territory. After a few minutes of careful observation, the order was given to attack.

“We could see them planting the explosives clearly,” an IDF spokesman said, and added that at least three of the four were killed.

“The incident is fairly local, and is under control,” the source said. “We are continuing to carry out routine security missions in the North. Our evaluation for the coming days has not changed,” he added.

The source declined to say which organization was behind the incident, saying it was too soon for such details.
