Building Facade Partially Collapses In Midtown Manhattan
The outer shell of a three-story Midtown Manhattan building that was under demolition partially collapsed Wednesday, moderately injuring a construction worker.
The worker rode down the collapse by standing on scaffolding as it crumbled. Workers say it sounded like an explosion. Rubble damaged a school bus parked on the street, but a driver sitting inside wasn’t injured. No children were on the bus.
The collapse happened a day after a construction worker at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn died when several steel beams fell on him.
