Christie: May Run But Still Focused on New Jersey
Gov. Chris Christie is back on the town-hall circuit to sell his latest pension overhaul plan.
He also wants New Jerseyans to know that he’s paying attention to the state, even if he decides to run for president.
The Republican has been laying the groundwork for a run and has long acknowledged as much.
In an event Wednesday in Mooretown, he told a group of about 500 people that just because he may be looking for another job doesn’t mean he’s not focused on the one he now holds.
It was Christie’s first town-hall meeting since August. It came a day after he unveiled a plan to overhaul the state’s pension system as part of his budget address.
