NY Health Exchange Hits 2M Enrollees
More than 2 million New Yorkers have enrolled in the state’s health-care marketplace since it began more than a year ago, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday, including 89 percent who had no insurance before.
According to the state, nearly 1.5 million enrolled in Medicaid and more than 500,000 chose a private plan. The current enrollment ends on Feb. 15.
In New Jersey on Thursday, Democrat lawmakers and federal officials urged uninsured residents to sign up for insurance. Since November, 216,425 residents have enrolled but about half a million are still uninsured.
