Long Lines at Ben Gurion as Workers Strike Without Warning
Travelers at Ben Gurion Airport were confronted with long lines at border controls due to an unauthorized strike by Ministry of the Interior employees on Tuesday, Globes reported.
According to an Israel Airports Authority spokesman, the work action took place without any warning, in violation of standing agreements, and branded it as “outrageous and irresponsible behavior
“A short time ago, the Ministry of the Interior passport control employees began a work-to-rule action,” the IAA said. “Israel is trying to restore its tourism and civil aviation sector, and someone, not for the first time, is sabotaging these efforts.”
Besides border control employees working slowly, some of the border control stations were abandoned altogether, leaving passengers waiting.
