GMC Unveils Canyon Nightfall Edition Full of Accessories

DETROIT (Detroit Free Press/TNS) —

GMC on Friday introduced a stylized, blacked-out edition of its midsize truck, the Canyon Nightfall Edition, to be offered on SLE crew cab models.

The Nightfall will be available in either two- or four-wheel drive and will come in onyx black, beginning in the second quarter of 2015.

Among the special features will be a black grille, black assist steps, a spray-in bedliner and 18-inch multispoke aluminum wheels.

“The new Canyon Nightfall Edition gives style-conscious customers another choice,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC. “Customers get the great looks of the Canyon Nightfall Edition and its unique content at a greater value than ordering the features separately.”

More than 40 percent of initial orders for Canyon include at least one of the accessories developed for the Nightfall Edition. The portfolio includes a “GearOn” cargo management system, bed protection, styling enhancements and trailering components.

Canyon offers 200 horsepower and highway fuel economy of 27 miles per gallon with a two-wheel drive drivetrain and a standard 2.5-liter I-4 engine. A larger, 3.6-liter V-6 takes horsepower up to 305 with highway mileage of 26 mpg.
