Palestinians Carrying Pipe Bombs Stopped Near Jenin
Four Palestinians carrying pipe bombs were arrested by Israeli security forces bombs on Wednesday at a checkpoint near Jenin.
At approximately 3:00 p.m., soldiers heard an explosion near the checkpoint and then spotted four men at the location. During the arrest, they discovered the pipe bombs hidden under their clothes.
After initial questioning, the suspects confessed to planning an attack against security personnel, and were later handed over to the Shin Bet for further interrogation.
A Border Guard company commander, Superintendent Benny Zakai, praised the officers for “being alert and responding quickly” to prevent the attack. “We maintain a high level of operational preparedness, knowing that these types of incidents could happen anytime and anywhere.”
