Terror Targeting Elections
As much as the Israeli electorate will be following the issue of combating terrorism in the upcoming elections campaign, so will the terrorists.
Palestinian terrorists are watching political developments intently and will seek to influence the elections, an Israeli security official predicted in the media on Thursday.
“The Palestinian leadership is clearly inciting the street who see a connection between the political reality in Israel and the security situation. … “It’s obvious that the wave of terror we have seen can influence the political landscape and turn into a propaganda tool for all parties ahead of the upcoming elections,” he said.
Palestinian media are giving almost non-stop coverage to the coalition crisis. What’s their angle? Hamas claims that the collapse of the coalition shows that they were the real victors in the war, and that violence can shape the Israeli political landscape.
