Police have arrested three suspects in the acts of vandalism at the Har Hazeisim cemetery reported on Tuesday.

The three residents of the northeastern Yerushalayim neighborhood of A-Tur, aged 22, 15 1/2 and 12, are thought to have damaged graves at the site during the past month.

They admitted to an October 12 attack in which dozens of graves were uprooted and smashed.

According to the results of the investigation, the three would meet in the late evening hours at the cemetery and use bricks and rocks to break the gravestones.

The 12-year-old was brought in for questioning accompanied by his parents, and was afterwards sent home under restrictions. A report about him was sent to welfare officers.

The other two were scheduled for a hearing on Monday for a discussion on an extension of their detention at the Magistrates Court.
