Erez and Kerem Shalom Crossings Closed After Gaza Mortar
For the second time since the end of Operation Protective Edge in August, a Kassem rocket from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel over Shabbos, the Israeli military said.
B’chasdei Shamayim, there were no injuries or damage to property.
During the hours after the projectile struck, there was no IDF counter-strike, an apparent sign Israel was looking to avoid any escalation. An Aug. 26 Gaza truce has largely held.
However, on Motzoei Shabbos, Israel closed the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings into Gaza until further notice.
There was no claim of responsibility for the mortar attack from any of the armed factions in Gaza.
