Demonstration Held on Har Hazeisim

YERUSHALAYIM (Hamodia Staff) —

Protestors gathered on Har Hazeisim on Tuesday to decry the ongoing desecration by Arab hooligans and what they described as the abject failure of the Israeli government and the police to protect this ancient beis hachaim, one of the oldest and holiest Jewish burial place in the world.

In addition to the repeated acts of desecration of kevarim — more than 40 graves were vandalized during Rosh Hashanah in the Kolel Polin Section — Jewish visitors who come to daven at the kivrei tzaddikim or of relatives are frequently attacked by local Arabs, putting the lives of the mispallelim in danger.

The protestors charged that the government and police have all but abandoned this sacred site, giving the hooligans free reign to commit their malicious deeds. They called for an immediate change in government policies, saying that the current situation is intolerable and cannot continue.
