De Blasio to Address UK’s Labour Party
Mayor Bill de Blasio will be a featured speaker at a major Labour Party conference in the United Kingdom, his team announced Tuesday.
The mayor will be the “International Speaker” at the party’s annual conference in Manchester, England, next Wednesday, and he will speak on the subject of “the twin challenges of rising inequality and declining standards of living.”
De Blasio, a liberal Democrat, was elected last year on a campaign that promised to fight income inequality in the nation’s largest city.
The mayor will also hold a private meeting with Ed Miliband, leader of the opposition Labour Party during his second international trip since taking office.
