Teachout Mulls Endorsing Cuomo
Zephyr Teachout said Friday that she is considering her next steps after a surprisingly strong Democratic primary challenge to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, but wouldn’t rule out endorsing him in the general election.
The law professor said she hasn’t made a decision but Cuomo would need to express opposition to hydraulic fracturing for natural gas before he could earn her support.
Teachout won 34 percent against a well-known incumbent. Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins is actively courting her supporters, saying he is now the true progressive in the race.
