IDF Soldier Lightly Wounded on Golan
An IDF soldier was lightly injured by a bullet fired from Syria into the Israeli side of the Golan Heights on Monday.
The soldier was hit in the leg by small arms fire and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The army was investigating whether the incident was the result of a misfire during combat or an intentional attack, the IDF spokesperson said.
The IDF continues to closely monitor the fighting raging in the Syrian civil war just across the border.
On Monday morning, a mortar shell landed in the Ein Zivan area on the Golan, and in the afternoon a second shell exploded in Israel close to Quneitra.
There were no damages or injuries reported in either incident.
