Sharpton Defends Comments on Mayor’s Son

NEW YORK

Al Sharpton defended Wednesday his comments at last week’s City Hall roundtable that the mayor’s son, Dante de Blasio, whose mother is black, was a “candidate for a chokehold,” since he starred in his father’s primary campaign ad about stop-and-frisk, The Observer reported. “You can say that to get votes, but I can’t say that for the reasons we voted for you?” he said.
