Bayonne Bridge to Close 3 Weekends In August

The Bayonne Bridge linking New Jersey with Staten Island will be closed for construction during the first three weekends in August starting this Friday at 11:59 p.m., the Staten Island Advance reported. The closures are part of a $1.2 billion project to raise the roadway to give larger ships access to area ports. The bridge will reopen at 4 p.m. each Sunday.
