NYC Council to Have More Community Input in Budget

NEW YORK

New York’s city council is expanding the public’s influence, with 22 members doing participatory budgeting, more than double the 10 who did so a year ago, The Associated Press reported. Each lawmaker will dole out $1 million based on residents’ votes. The remaining 29 members will spend their funds without a community vote.
