IDF Completes Field Hospital for Palestinians at Erez Crossing
Against the backdrop of Operation Protective Edge and the ground operation, the political echelons in Israel decided to establish a field hospital at the Erez Crossing in the northern Gaza Strip.
The hospital is being established because of the unique circumstances of this time. It is intended to give medical and humanitarian treatment to the Palestinian population. The hospital will absorb Palestinians who are wounded or sick, in coordination with the liaison between the IDF and the Palestinians at the crossing. The hospital will offer basic and emergency medical treatment, including emergency treatment, for women and children as well. There will be a delivery room and an option for hospitalization. It will be staffed by doctors, nurses, radiology technicians and lab personnel.
The hospital will operate under the Medical Corps. It was established within one day at the Erez Crossing in an existing, reinforced structure.
