Woman Drowns While Trying to Save Son

A mother on Wednesday drowned while trying to save her 9-year-old son and his friend on Lake Erie, The Associated Press reported. Christen Stefan, 37, of Pennsylvania was vacationing near Buffalo when the boys tubing on the lake were swept out to sea. Stefan swam out to help them, but the current brought her down. The boys came up, but Stefan disappeared. Her body was found shortly afterward.
