Woman Attacked by Rabid Fox
A 30-year-old woman was attacked by a rabid fox near Syracuse but she is now in recovery, the Post-Standard of Syracuse reported. Shannon Edwards returned from a doctor’s appointment with her 3-year-old son to find a fox chasing her cat in circles outside her house. The fox looked at her and started biting her legs. She kicked it and started running up her driveway, fell and the fox bit her right wrist at least seven times before she escaped inside. A sheriff’s deputy shot and killed the diseased animal after a neighbor called 911.
