Leech Invasion Closes Catskills Swimming Area

An infestation of blood-sucking leeches is forcing the state to shut down the swimming area at a Catskill lake for Tuesday and Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. Crews will apply copper sulfate to Lake Minnewaska, which is closed for swimming, boating and fishing.
