Feds Plan to Relocate Illegal Minors to Long Island

MINEOLA, N.Y. -

Elected officials are opposing the possible relocation to Long Island of some of the thousands of unaccompanied children who have been coming to the U.S. in recent months to flee violence in Central America, The Associated Press reported. Reps. Steve Israel, a Democrat, and Peter King, a Republican, say the government is considering a former defense plant site in Bethpage to relocate.
