NYC’s Emergency Management Chief Resigns
New York City’s commissioner of emergency management said Wednesday he is resigning effective next week Friday to allow Mayor Bill de Blasio to appoint his own manager. Joe Bruno, 70, entered city government more than 40 years ago under Mayor John Lindsay. He played a large role in helping prepare for Superstorm Sandy, as well as this year’s severe snowstorms.
