Chabad Beis Knesses Goes Up in Flames at Kibbutz Magal
A Chabad caravan (portable building) serving as a beis knesses at Kibbutz Magal went up in flames and was completely destroyed over Shabbos, including sifrei Torah inside it.
Mispallelim who arrived afterwards broke down and wept at the terrible ruin.
Firefighters who were called to the scene Shabbos morning struggled to put out the fire, but it was too late.
Police said there were no immediate clues as to who was responsible.
A few hours later, on Shabbos afternoon, a beis knesses on Chovevei Tzion Street in the heart of Petach Tikvah was set on fire. While the paroches of the aron kodesh was destroyed, the sifrei Torah inside were undamaged, owing to the fact that it is lined with metal, fire officials said.
Police are investigating.
