NYC Trash Headed to 2nd Site Upstate

MACEDON, N.Y. -

An upstate New York landfill is poised to begin accepting trash by rail from New York City, the second such site to accept Big Apple garbage, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported. High Acres Landfill, which sprawls over nearly 1,000 acres near Rochester, began construction of a rail spur leading to the landfill. Rail shipments of solid waste are expected to begin in 2015.
