Obama Board Backs Unions Again in LIRR Talks

NEW YORK

A White House-appointed mediation panel on Tuesday rejected an MTA proposal for a Long Island Rail Road union contract, the second time an Obama-approved board sided with the union, Newsday reported. The Presidential Emergency Board called the unions’ proposal “reasonable.” The union voted to strike in July if they don’t get raises they want.
