Governors Island Issues Tender for Kosher Vendors

NEW YORK (Hamodia Staff) —

Governors Island, one of New York City’s newest public spaces, is seeking kosher food vendors to operate on site as it opens for its first summer season that it will serve the public every day of the week.

The Trust for Governors Island, which is located between Brooklyn and lower Manhattan, is soliciting vendors for a few days or for longer term so that New Yorkers who eat kosher may enjoy the park.

In a press release, Councilman David Greenfield urged vendors to apply for this offer.

“Governors Island … is a perfect destination for families to explore over the summer,” Greenfield said. “I am thrilled that the island is seeking kosher vendors so that all New Yorkers can enjoy refreshments on site.”

The park is accessible by ferry from both Brooklyn and Manhattan and will open May 24 until Sept. 28.
