2 Skydivers Survive Parachute Malfunction
Two people on Sunday survived, with just minor injuries, a sky-diving accident after jumping out of an airplane at 9,000 feet, The Associated Press reported. Georgi Reed, 35, and instructor Scott Smith, 47, jumped but both the main parachute and reserve failed to open properly as they plummeted. However, the partially inflated reserve chute caused them to spiral, slowing their fall until they hit some trees.
