NYC Rail Link to LIRR Encounters Setback

NEW YORK

The long-awaited project to link the Long Island Rail Road into Grand Central Terminal has encountered another setback with five sinkholes discovered this month at a Queens train junction where much of the East Side Access work is being done, Newsday reported. The rail link is projected to be completed in 2023 and cost nearly $11 billion. Work has been temporarily suspended while the cause of the ground collapses is investigated.
