Square, Inc., the San Francisco-based company behind the credit card payment system that attaches to mobile phones, is opening its East Coast headquarters in New York City this summer, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced. About 30 employees will initially work in their new offices, but in return for $5 million in Empire State Development tax credits offered by Cuomo, the company will have to grow by 350 employees.
